The description states:
188 CATTLE ON THE RANGE IN THE SOUTHWEST
The western cattle ranges feed most of the U. S. There were no cattle in America when the Spaniards cam (only buffalo). The brought a breed of “Long Horn” cattle which had their origin in Portugal. By the time Texas was annexed to the U. S. the Southwest was over-run by “Long Horns”. Thousands were driven to northern markets. They are now replaced by better stock, great herds of which supply our finest beef steaks.
–This herd is the common white-faced Hereford common throughout cattle areas in the United States.
This card was used and is dated 11 July 1953.

— The motel is long gone and since replaced by a small strip mall. The name was given due to its location across U.S. 66 from the State Fairgrounds.

–The Masonic Temple in this image does not appear to have survived. This image dates from the 1940s.

–The facility still exists and provides 100 acute care beds for Veterans as well as outpatient treatment facilities.
This card was used and is dated 13 June 1955.

–This motel is a bit more luxurious than most of the same chain, as it included tour services and a beauty salon, among other unusual amenities.
This image likely dates from the 1950s.

Juniata Bridge, Lewistown, Pennsylvania

This image is an illustration of the Juniata Bridge, or the Lewistown Road Bridge, which crosses the Juniata River in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

There is no description on the back of this card.
According to the link above, this bridge was completed in 1924 as a replacement for an older truss bridge, and was in turn replaced in 1989. The mills in the background were part of the large complex of factories operated by the American Viscose Corporation, which was the largest producer of rayon in the early 20th century and the first to make artificial silk.
This card was used and is dated 2 August 1937.

This image shows the family home of former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who after commanding the Allied forces to victory in Europe during World War II was elected to two terms as President of the United States.

–Eisenhower lived here with his parents and brothers until he went to West Point. It remained in the family until it was deeded to the government as a site for the Eisenhower Library.
This postcard likely dates from the 1950s.

There is no description on the back of this card.
The statue has an interesting secret: The hands have been carved into the shape of the American Sign Language letters “A” and “L”, as the sculptor was hearing impaired.
This card was used and is dated 20 August 1954.
 

Merry Christmas card, Germany

This illustration is of an idealized winter setting with a rural home lit up for the Christmas celebrations.
There is no description on the back of this card. The phrase on the front translates as “Merry Christmas”.
This card was purchased in East Germany and sent as a gift to a recipient in the Soviet Union.
The card was used but not mailed separately, so has no date. However, it is of the same series as the previous posting, and likely dates from the 1950s.
