This image shows the first of a series of images featuring the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Organ. This shows the women of the choir dressed in variously colored formal gowns while the men wear tuxedos. The women are split to either side of the men in the center.

The description states:
“MORMON” TABERNACLE CHOIR AND ORGAN
TEMPLE SQUARE, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH
With a membership of more than 375 voices the “Mormon” Tabernacle Choir — a voluntary organization — has been heard since 1929 with the Tabernacle Organ in nationwide weekly broadcasts. Visitors to Temple Square are invited to attend the Sunday morning broadcasts as well as the free organ recitals presented daily in the Tabernacle.
–It is not known what particular event prompted the choice of clothing, if any. This card was used, and is dated 27 July 1953.
