Cathedral Glass Artwork, Corning, New York

This image shows an example of Steuben glass, made by the Steuben company before acquisition by Corning Glass.
The description states:
CATHEDRAL
Desgined by George Thompson
Prismatic form, engraved to suggest a cathedral spire. By visual illusion the engraving appears to be suspended in three dimensions within the glass itself.
STEUBEN GLASS

–This technique is now more widely used in glass and acrylic to create images that float inside the block of material.
This image likely dates from the 1950s.
