Moving past the parking lot and the iconic Little America Sign, we now look back towards the fuel pumps and service station area behind the sign, and the Dining Room. The location is named partly in honor of the camp of the same name established at the South Pole by Richard Byrd in 1929.

— The iconic sign at the right has two dark spots on it, these appear to be lights or blinkers, and are not stains or other marks on the card. The penguin was used on many billboards leading to the center, but all the penguin themed billboards have been removed.
